A Letter to My Future Self

Dear Future Self,

I am assuming you’re reading this on the screen while sitting down on the swing and your children playing around in the playground right beside you. Cool!

You have been through this all, It’s totally okay for you to take a rest for a while.

Don’t forget to take a deep breathe and looking for a fresh air then do that inhale-exhale as a routine.

Take a moment and go have yourself a proper personal day. And don’t you dare to feel guilty for taking the time for yourself.

Some kinds of stuff are going to happen to you. You won’t be able to plan for it. But it’s okay, right? Because since childhood you’ve always been practicing to just roll with the flow and learn from what’s happened around.

Dear Future Self,

You have grown this mature enough, You experienced gain and loss.

You learned what love really means

You learned how to survive in certain condition

You learned that everything happens for a reason, even people comes and go in your daily life.

But it’s okay…

This year has been a crazy one.

But remember that, you’re here now and you’re exactly where you need to be.

Dear Future Self,

Don’t forget to tell your children you love them, a lot. Just like your parents always did. Because I am sure they are all incredible and deserve to hear it from you.

Also, don’t forget to take a vacation with your loved ones once in a while. Book it today, wherever you go will be perfect as long as you see nature and touch the leaves.

If you’re still able to hear the birds singing, just stop and take a moment to listen because not everyone fortunate enough to enjoy that experience.

And also not everyone is so privileged to have access to food, so don’t forget to share!

You have spent your whole teenage life sacrificing your time to do something productive and trying to always be beneficial, spread positivity, and give good impacts to your surrounding. Remember, it was all worth it and not a waste of time.

You gain that maturity, respect, and validation you once desperately sought. But you have to be responsible for it all. Just don’t lose track of what’s important and what’s worth making time for.

Dear Future Self,

Enjoy it. All of it.

You will have enough time to do everything that you love, so stop stressing too much.

Don’t forget to ask people around you how they are doing and truly listen.

The irreplaceable sensation of true connection and understanding between two people is the best feeling in this entire world that money can’t buy.

Remember, money is just a number. It comes and it goes. Don’t rush yourself to gain a lot of money because it will never be enough and your life is slowly decreasing its value.

Because no one lives forever in this world full of temptation.

Life is so interesting, right? It’s full of the ups and downs. Sometimes it’s crazy, fun, boring, unexpected, sad, happy, etc.

Despite all of the constant frustration, Please do believe that there will be always lesson-learned in every circumstance.

All the successes, failures, heartwarming, and heartbreaking moments were all worth it. NO REGRETS!

Don’t let people’s expectation and anxiety ruin you.

You were and are and have been and always will be yourself, and that’s what matters above all.

And never forget to be grateful. You should be oh, so grateful!

Dear Future Self,

I am hoping you’re much further along in this process than me,

Keep going.

With love,

Past you.
